I Was a Boss on an Alien Planet for 3 Days, Then Realized I Was the Only Employee

Last week, I clicked on _The Alters_ and wanted to experience the feeling of being a space capitalist, but three days later, I found that I had become the most miserable contractor in the universe. Now as soon as I close my eyes, my mind is full of the backs of the group of difficult-to-serve alter egos who get off work on time.

The story begins with a space accident. Jan Dolski, who I play, fell on a desolate alien planet and had to use quantum technology to clone himself in order to survive. I thought I could form an elite team, but all the people printed out were ancestors: there were miners who sawed off their arms because of phantom pain, scientists who were only willing to work 7 hours a day, and botanists who were emotional at any time. The most outrageous thing is that even if the base is about to cut off the power and food, this group of men still get off work on time.

At first, I patiently played the role of Elder Brother Agony Aunt. Do miners think the work is not satisfactory? I quickly adjusted the schedule. Scientists want better laboratories? I collected resources to build it overnight. But soon it was found that this was a bottomless hole. I remember that there was a time when the five modules of the base failed at the same time, the kitchen was cut off, and the radiation-proof device was about to shut down. I was so anxious that I sweated profusely. As a result, the miner actually left work early because today’s food was not to my taste. At that moment, I really wanted to shout at the screen: “We’re going to die, bro!”

The exploration part makes me even more crazy. Each map has a limited survival time, and the migration must be completed before the devastating sunrise. I’m like a firefighter. During the day, I have to go out to detect mineral veins and fight against supernatural phenomena. When I go back to the base at night, I have to give psychological counseling to my alter ego. The most ironic thing is that there is a resource called Xun Gas in the game that is specially used to make new alter ego, and the more alter ego you make, the more men I want to serve.

The resource management system is simply collapsing. Each of the five basic resources has only a single vein, and the production efficiency is pitifully low. I tried to let all the branches go mining, but the internal operation of the base was immediately paralyzed. Scientists lose their temper and only study for 4 hours a day. Miners need treatment for radiation injuries, and no one cooks in the kitchen and everyone is hungry. I went to bed on time at 23 o’clock, but I became the most diligent person.

After playing for three days, I completely understood the true meaning of the game: you thought you were the boss, but you were actually a 996 coordinator. Every day, I wake up at 7 a.m. until late at night, not only going out for adventures and managing internal affairs, and even the sleep time is compressed to a minimum. However, those alter ego enjoy strict protection of working hours and never work overtime when they get off work on time.

Although the game experience is tiring, I have to say that this crazy design is very good. During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I played until the early morning for three consecutive days, just to better manage the base. However, the setting of starting from scratch in the second week is really persuading, and I don’t have the courage to serve those ancestors again.

If you also want to experience the feeling of being an “interstellar nanny”, you might as well try this game. However, it is recommended that you be mentally prepared first. After all, the boss is the only worker here. Have you ever encountered this kind of design that makes people love and hate in the game? Welcome to share your suffering experience in the comment section.
